An island somewhere......
Well, I have just re-ordered my new tank(s) and need an idea of what to put in the tank. The tank will be a 270g. CA community tank, measurements are 72"x36"x24". I'm leaning mimicking Ruck Fules, Polomax and Nutty's tanks..... with the exception of Nutty's tank it'll be an "overstocked" community of aggressive fish (not quite to Terd Fergusion's stocklist but close). Here's two options..... start off with a bunch of 3" fish and grow them up together or splurge and go big from the get-go. Still deciding on single males or a mix of singles w/ pairs.

List:

Red Tiger Mota (trio/quad)
Parachromis cf loiselli "La Ceiba"
Pearsei
Grammode
Argentea
Zonatus
Maculacauda (Blackbelt)
Synspilus
Bifasciatus

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated!

My suggestion

Red Tiger Mota (trio/quad)
Parachromis cf loiselli "La Ceiba"
Pearsei
Grammode
Argentea
Zonatus
Maculacauda (Blackbelt) - Replace with Bocourti
Synspilus
Bifasciatus

in my opinion, i would lose the Maculacauda and get a nice male gold suam insted.

i would get that and add a texas, and a hemichromis elongatus( five spot jewel)

Get yourself one of Rich's tapajos orange pike's Sean, you won't regret it. Out of all the fish I ditched that one was the hardest to part with.

Or you could just get a few black nasties and be the first guy in So. Cali. to breed them in years :P

Screw it get a Beani!!! Yeah Maculacauda's don't rank high on my Vieja list. Just too calm at least all the ones I have owned. Mine always get picked on. I have a 6-7" male right now and he is the only one that has survived the Synspilums rath of pain and suffering lol. Some Herichthys species would be cool. Or A HAITIENSIS!!!

labridens?
pikes?

this is just one of the three tanks? or is this for all three of them?

I like the pike idea.... maybe add a couple, just need to see which type! I do like Jason's suggestion, those red tapajos are nice! Btw, just one of the tanks (for now).

I thought about that but are they very similar to the Pearsei?
