Thunder Bay On
On Friday went and bought a new 120 gal fish tank with all the goodies. Only problem is that it will be sitting on my bed room floor until Christmas. The only way I could talk my wife into it was to tell her it was a family present. The worse part yet is all the family will be coming to our house this year so I will not be able to start set up on Christmas and the day after will be shot seeing as I will be to hung over to even move. Anybody have any suggestions to help time go by just a little faster.

yep, set it up anyways and go buy her something to keep her quiet

LOL, Im going through the same problem... I just bought a 180gal and I cant set it up yet because my wife told me to ask for the things I need for christmas. I havent found anthing to pass the time, Im just pulling my hair out staring at it every second I sit in my recliner watching the days slowly go by. I started working more lol but then I just think about it at work. LOL

set it up and let the tank begin to cycle and everything and just leave a big sheet over it intill christmas morning, that way on christmas morning you can have fish in it and your entire family can have some entertainment from it

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one in this boat. As far as setting it up with a sheet over it won't work because I have a 2 year old and a 13 year old. I tried to use the cycle excuse. Then she reminded me the 55 gal we got at the end of July was suppose to be an early Christmas present. I even tried to convince her since she is Canadian and I am American that we celebrated Christmas a month earlier. So far nothing's worked.

set it up christmas eve after she's gone to bed, then blame-
1) elves
2) santa
3) a christmas miracle
4) Jack Skellington
5) sleep fishkeeping

When I bought my 120 my wife said the same thing you can wait and ask for everything you need for X-mas. Well that didnt work when stuff started to show up at our door she knew I was up late ordering stuff on-line. She got over it after awhile!

The worse part is I don't have to order anything it's all here. Every now and then I'll pull out a filter or a heater and reread directions. Do you think she might beleave if I don't hurry up and get the drift wood in water it will rot away? Or maybe the rock will go bad.

idk about the driftwood rotting but you could claim it can only stay out of the water for x amount of time until it won't waterlog anymore or something like that
