Ive had ma ebjd for about 4months and hes been living in a 10 gallon that whloe time. just yesterday i moved him to my 55 gallon tank that was setup and running for him. the problem was he was a really pretty blue torqouise over his whole body and hes a dark blue now. hes happy and exploring the tank and no signs of stress but would want him back to his old color :) any ideas why that happened?

im guessing just the change of envirenment

Tank transfer has to get use too the surroundings & adapt it's color will come back give it time.

He may not looked stressed from his behaviour, but he is. The colour will come back after time, no problem.

same thing happened to me, except one of my EBJD got lighter and the other darker... his eyes turned black!!!

They just got changed to a different tank so they are likely stressed...

Just give it time, i dont think anything is wrong with him

thanx Linemanbrad will use the advice :)

it's probably just the change of scenery, but be aware that it's also a pretty common occurrence for EBJDs to go thru color changes as they mature . . .

I've been on some EBJD sites where there is a phenomenon known as "the ugly stage" that happens around 3" where many fish go from that really pretty powder blue we all love at 1-1.5" and they start showing a lot of black . . . eventually, they push thru this stage and the blue starts coming back

my EBJD is presently at the point where he is thru the ugly stage and is now starting to show a really strong blue

really, until they are around 5-6", you won't know what your EBJD is going to look like . . . enjoy :)
