Have an empty cycled 55. Interesting species?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
A group of thorichthys aureaus, helleri or socolofi would be my choice.1 male and 6 or 7 females would work very well. They would not be too aggressive and would breed kept this way.
You could also add a group of livebearers like swordtails. or if you wanted something a little different for the top levels, the pike top livebearer would be an interesting addition.

get some white green terror try wild caught lovely fish
A 55 is way too small for green terrors, especially wild caught ones, they will be a lot more aggressive than tank raised rivulatus.
agreed, 75g+ for male GT. Maybe a female could be ok in a 55g, but she would likely kill anything else you put w/ her

How big are your females, Stan?

They are Around the six inch mark. I'm sure they would be a little bigger if they were not constantly spawning.

i have 3 green terrors 1 x in 200liter 2x in 300liter. looking at the tank and the size of the fish you could easily say yea they can stay there for life. When you actually see how much swimming they like doing and how they like growing in height not just length you will understand its a bad idea i think a 400liter for a green terror is good. Green terrors like to swim up and down not just left and right.
I am getting a 500/600 liter tank for my wild riv and tank breed and may add additional two.
I am no expert with these fish but i promise you now you will never find any one else that watches there green terrors as much as i do. I am actually thinking of setting up a wifi underwater cam in the 600L tank :$ Underwater tank to rasberry pi to wifi router) static address straight out and easy browseable viewing to any one that wants to watch
