I bought this medicine for sedating my Congo spotted puffers before trimming their teeth. I used to use colve oil but it was very bad for them. Anyone has any experience using this product? How much do I need to put in water for Congo spotted puffer? The instruction manual doesn’t say much.

I haven’t heard of this (but they also don’t sell it in the US).
What’s the active ingredient?

I have heard of Tranquil before, but not sure what the active ingredients are. I use MS-222

I don't know what is in this product but the following is a google translation of the instructions:

"Takazumi Tranquil is an anesthetic for pond fish. 2 ml per 5 liters of water. Use the supplied measuring cup and a treatment tray. Mix the required product in the treatment container well with a sufficient amount of water. Depending on the water temperature, it will take a few minutes for the fish to be stunned. Mix the product well with the water before placing the fish in the bowl or measuring tank."

I couldn't find anything online about the ingredients from their website.

I received the package and it says it contains Phenoxyethanol

There is no guide leaflet to show how much should I put in water.
Can you please help me based on your experience how much should I put in how much water for how long ? IMG_8773.jpeg

P professorjimjam I can't translate your pic because I can't copy it and post it in Google Translate. You could do it yourself by typing in the words on the packaging.

Check out my post #5 for the instructions I found on their website. You will need to put the fish you want to treat in a separate (treatment) container and follow the instructions exactly. You do NOT want to medicate the fish in the main tank.

I would wait until someone with experience with this product or that has used Phenoxyethanol comments though. A quick online search shows it is an oily substance and it's easy to overdose the fish during treatment possibly resulting in death.

Dosage of any of these anesthetics vary based on size, type of fish, water temps, etc.

You may have to experiment to find the right does for your puffers. In this study, they found that the optimal dosage for most fish “for 2-phenoxyethanol (2-PE) 0.25–1200 ppm”
