That is freshwater tank my friend
I know (I wish there were saltwater cichlids and gouramis), algae is still algae though (different species but you still get diatoms, hair algae, etc).
I let the black beard algae grow like nuts in one of my tanks. Nothing I did got rid of it, but it looks fine once it is under control + the fish like grazing.

Use to have it set up better but I'm going threw some stuff an have since been changing it up

Lol took me a second to realize that the crack I was seeing was on the camera lens rather then the tank lol. Lovely Oscar btw, looks like someone was breeding for pure black Oscars but this one just ended up with just a tiny bit of orange. Love it's color contrast tho, that orange really pops on the dark black body. Love the hybrid as well, like I said in your other post is that it's most likely a JagHorn, Jaguar x FH hybrid. It's definitely got a good mix of traits from both parents tho.

I highly doubt you'll be able to get any fry from this pair just due to the fact I have never seen a Oscar hybrid of any kind that was actually proven to be a hybrid Oscar. Seen plenty of ppl claiming they had hybrid Oscars but they always just looked like a slightly deformed Oscar rather then a hybrid. Granted if they do end up with fry I would love to see how they turn out. Lol I may even try to talk ya out of a few.

Where does the blue come from if it's not Jack Dempsey
The one with the blue bearded look is indeed a female Jack Dempsey. It's possible it could be a hybrid but highly unlikely. Jack's from what I've noticed don't tend to hybridize all that often compaired to other cichlids, Oscars are even less likely. Btw with JD's they tend to change color quite frequently from what I've noticed. They will change color from light to dark for many reasons. Stress, substrate color, background color, tank mates, breeding, gender, and mood are all reasons for Jack's to change color. Mine used to be able to change color withing less then a minute all just because of a change in mood.
