Don't freeze it, it's painful first the fish is panicking then it slowly gets colder most people think it goes to sleep but what happens is as the water in the lungs and skin start to freeze they turn to shards of glass and cut and burst. Think of spinach when you take it out of the freezer it's all watery that's because all the cells burst letting the water out

The drop in temp will slow it down but think of how you feel out side at 10 degree weather you take a breath and it hurts now get naked and wet and go out that's how it is, yes it slows down the heart and almost puts the fish to sleep but your still freezing it. Anyone who's had frost bite can tell you it hurts

Your a human. You regulate your body temperature, which means it can't fluctuate with the environment. This is why it causes us intense pain because a drop in temperature is very costly too us. Most fish can adjust with their environment (minus tuna and some sharks) and don't regulate their temps. Its not the same fish and humans are very different.

But taking a warm fish and freezing don't you think the inside of the fish will still be warm while the outside freezes ? Ever freeze a large cup of water it freezes from the outside in so while the fishes core body temp my still be warm the out side skin will be ice just kill the fish how ever you want it doesn't bother me any bit I was just looking out for the fish
