Keep my midevil alone in a 150 now. I kept a male flowerhorn with it before in the 150 but the midevil would still shred his fins routinely.

Its tough for me because i really like bustling community tanks but i also really enjoy the big aggro cichlids. So much personality.

My midas (Elvis) was a solo wet pet as well as my female umbee ( eyelashes ) and my male dovii ( peanuts) ....they were little puppies , always rushing to the glass and wagging tails when I came down into the fish room .

I have a dumbo ear female betta and she tried killing 2 other female bettas I put with her. Now the other 2 bettas are in a 10 gallon with 2 female guppies since they get along with other fish.

here is a picture of my solo wet pet (tiny tina)13641621364163

My lenticulata pike is by himself in a 40b until my tiger severum gets big enough to not get eaten by him. The severum is growing really slowly though, I might need to switch them around... pike to 75g community (then 135g later this year), grow out severum in the 40b.

I've had several fish by themselves over the years, currently my male midas that is approaching 7 yrs of age. He simply refused to play nice with others, even as a small juvie.

Heterotilapia buttikoferi going to be a wet pet in a 150g. meanest fish I have ever kept and I've kept all the normal killers.

My answer is yes, but it wasn't on purpose! When my big female parrot started using her teeth on everybody she had to be separated. Ditto for the my largest male parrot. So now I have two single tanks with one parrot each and a display tank with another male parrot and oscar.

Fish don't seem to give a hoot about plans...

I like so many different fish. I don't have space for solo pets(excluding my daughter's betta a few years ago).
