Saw this happen in my backyard growing up. Pretty wild to see it in an urban area on top of a car though.
That's what's so awesome about it...That particular location in downtown Philadelphia is a very busy shopping area, honking cars, crowds of people walking back and forth, and there is this raptor chowing down on a pidgeon. On top of someones car no less...I wish I was there to see it in person.

Yes about 18 years ago we had a Golden Eagle that nested above the abandoned school that was across the street from my house. We kept calling ASPCA and telling them that their was a bird circling over head with a 5-6' wingspan and we kept finding dead stray cats on the hoods of cars. They were not buying it. Then one day we had a bunch of ASPCA trucks and cops outside and found out that the Bird was a Golden Eagle that had escaped from Philly Zoo.

Wow...Would you happen to know what kind of hawk this is in the clip.

Awesome vid. I love birds of prey

My grandpa used to shoot smaller birds in his backyard that would try to eat the products out of his garden, there was a red tail that figured out that whenever there was a gunshot it meant a free meal. You could set your watch buy it. My grandpa could shoot and she would be there within 10 minutes. It was fun to watch. She would also stick around the property and hunt. She tried catching a black snake once and that didn't work too well for her. Kept wrapping around her feet and she just gave up on it.

i bet the owner of the car wouldn'y be so cheerful and grinning like the other bystanders. Feathers and bllod on the can and a scratched up hood. ouch.
