Some years ago I contacted Eheim/Jaeger about it, and they said it's oil inside. Nothing at all to worry about.

I have never encountered that, it would make me uneasy too.
 
Wats the minimim req wattage for a 55 and also a 135?

I would check for cracks in the glass. If you're not careful...electrocution could occur. Glass heaters will break if they are running and are exposed to air. Something about the pressure and temperature combining. If you did a WC recently and left it on/plugged in and it became exposed that may have caused it.

It's happened to two of my heaters before... grrr. It's a pain in the butt. But now I remember to turn it off. lol
