have you ever thrown a 4 inch red in with 4 inch black and saw who won!!!or an elongatus with a s,niger :devil:
 
I totally agree with caveman. a waste of money and fish. but if i were to see one i would put my money on the s. niger.

Whats the difference between caribe and a reb bellie ? I thought they were the same fish.

there's 3 species of redbelly piranha, the Pygocentrus group: nattereri cariba and piraya. Nattereri are the most common specie, and are notorious for being excessively shy. Cariba are fairly common as well. Piraya are fairly rare and always expensive.

Thanks for clearing that up...I was a bit confused.
 
I just saw some 3" piraya yesterday. They were about $55 a piece. I would love to add these guys to my tank.
 
has anyone added piraya to a tank of nattereri when all were juveniles? I talked with a store owner who said this would not be a problem.
 
should work fine... as fine as piranha groups get anyway. Cannibalization happens. Won't be any different than just adding another nattereri
