Well i've recently bought a 4-5" Rhom and put him into a 24x15x15 (tempory) the water was from an established setup and the filter was semi mature and i seem to have got nititres on the rise, it isn't too bad yet at 0.50 mg/l. but he was gasping (plus it's been very hot over here) so i added an air stone and he doesn't seem as happy as he used to. So i've done Daily W/C and added some cycle. Is there anything else i can do? Some people have said that salt helps lower nitrite levels? I'd hate to lose him.

Prime by seachem. Will detoxify your amonia and nitrite.. Follow the directions til the tank is cycled.

I also used stability once by seachem..
