wow, i would hate to be him.

ME TOO !!! Its not as bad as it looks, but i'm sure it sucks.

I've never owned a RTC that was this aggresive . What i find very odd is there are plenty of small fish in this tank, and aside from about 25 missing danios nothing gets eaten ???? I have a 2.5" redtailed shark and he's dinner exempt . Every day i figure he's on borrowed time, but every day he's out cruisin around without worries, swims with the TSN at night too :screwy:

I have a plan to add a 75 gallon tank to my system in line with my wet/dry so that should buy me some time. Its sure better than the sump.

Right on, glad to see the rtc out of the sump. That divider in the 265 wasn't a bad idea either, Hopefully you can pump the little guy up, I'd try to wait till the little one is atleast a noticible bit bigger than the aggr. one so that way it might even out. Good luck.

i say, slide in a divider. what else is in the tank? keep the meanie alone on 1 side, and the others on the other side. power feed the smaller guy then remove the divider n try again. if u see agression again, put back the divider. thats the best thing i can think of so you dont have to move fish from tank to tank with diff params.

yup i agree with you

wow i did not know they could be this agressive...love them though..

Does the aggressive rtc mess with the tsn at all?? Because a tsn would be much easier prey to swallow(much more slender.) If not I'm thinking that it's more of a dominant/territorial dispute and this is why the rtc's are leaving the the other species alone... wait you did say you saw scratches on the tsn didn't you? Have you seen them fight? Are you thinking of splitting them up? I have a 8" rtc x tsn with a 6.5-7" tsn 2 red belly pacu 4-6" a 4.5" id shark 2- 2.5" sunglow cats and a 6" jardini in a 90 gallon grow out and everyone has been fine for month. (I had to remove my oscar because he wouldn't stop picking on my jar, and one day I woke up and the jar left a nasty bite mark on the O's side and the oscar caught ick. So he's in a hospital tank right now and I don't know if i wanna re introduce him in...)

You said you were having trouble keeping two together.... Look at this pic I found on google images....

lol, those have to be ones that are returned to a pet store. That's the only time I have seen large cats that cramp. I saw a pet store with like 5 rtc in one 150 gal tank, they were all over 2 ft. Can we get an update on how your RTC likes prison? Have you reintroduced him yet?

I've tried to re-introduce him 4 times in the last couple months and everytime he gets the crap beat out of him......BAD. I have a TSN and a Marble cat with him and aside from the Marble cat being a stupid azz they all get along fine. The RTC and TSN actually get along really good, probably due to the TSN growing quicker. That second RTC will not work in this tank. I'm sure of that.Ever since that time the 4" one tried to eat the 3 1/2" one its been down hill ever since, only now its the 13" one tries to eat the 12" one. Same problem, same fish....just bigger :screwy:

I gave that RTC to a friend who has him in a 7' 200 gallon tank with a few oscars and aro's. He's almost all healed up and is doing nicely. I plan on trying one more time next winter when I fire up that indoor pond again......maybe.

It should be interesting when I try to introduce one of my hybrids to this tank. They are growing pretty quick and should be big enough in a month or two.I guess fish are like people......... sometimes two just cant get along.
