I am uderly confused right now I have lost 4 of my 7 rays in 2 days in 3 seperate tanks? I have many other fish in all the tanks nothing has happened to them ! my water parameters are perfect andin some tanks the rays that didnt die are perfectly fine! These deths were crazy my rays were swimming and eating fine a few hours later dead! I fed shrimp and worms They didnt even eally curl ut for 5 or 10 minutes then instantl dead....I disected one and it look to have sand 3m s grade all in its intestines?

what color of 3m sand are you using?

Spotfin had the same thing happen to some of his rays.

black! And in another tank tahitti moon.....I also found out my dad dumped feeders in the tanks could those dumb fish have caused this? like them eat the sand and the ray eat them?

rays are always sifting through sand, so i think they easily digest some. I have black t grade with my rays and have no problems. It has been in my tank for sometime.
I have also used white s grade with no problems.
Not saying that the sand is not the problem but i doubt it.
Spotfin posted the picture of the autopsy, and also thought the sand may have caused it. He posted the pictures of the ingridents and some folks thought that it was pretty toxic. He was using tan s grade i think. Like i said i have used it with no deaths.

what kind of rays ?

oh wow, after seeing hte pictures, they probably died from parasites + starvation not the sand IMO

these rays motoro, castexi, and sp peru did not look as skinny that is why they are still alive.
