Hazy Glass

Hello; Was the tank purchased new or used? Cannot tell what it is, but looks like where the water sat at the level of the line for some time.
It may well be mineral deposits and if so could be removed with a vinegar solution. The tank was need to be empty and the fish removed for that. However it would seem that surface deposits should come off with judicious use of a razor blade scraper. Those scrapers can work well if applied properly, but can scratch glass if mishandled.
A worst case would be something that sat in the tank at that level and etched into or frosted the glass.

The tank was purchased used but did not have this issue when I first bought it. I've tried razor blades inside and out with no luck. After that didn't work, I was almost convinced that it is something on the actual inside of the glass which is strange.

it would be nice if you could know this, but just because you didn't see it doesn't mean it wasn't there. he may have cleaned it up to sell it because of the same problem.
I don't see where a nylon scrubbie would do much but I'd give it a try since the only alternative I can see would be buffing out the glass. if it is a mineral buildup because of a rough glass surface, I don't see an alternative to draining the tank. if you don't smooth out the surface it will just keep coming back.

is the bottom hazy?
