hazy water cannot keep clear?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Are you rinsing all the levels of your 110 when you change water? Do you gravel vac every time? How long has tank been up? How did you cycle? How long did you cycle? What kind of substrate? How long are the lights on? Is it by a window? Do you have both intakes at the same level? Do you have surface current? How often do you feed?.....you answer all of these questions HONESTLY (that is the only way we can help) and we will help ya out bro!

This is a little different from the poly fil mentioned earlier; I also bought this at Walmart in the craft section. To me it's a little easier to handle; it cuts to fit whatever size filter you have. I have two layers of this in my ac's, plus biomax on top. If you are doing everything else right, 2 ac 110's will give yoy 1000 gph at the high setting, plenty for a 90 and then some. IMHO :)

Try a UV sterilizer, Since I purchased my first one it looks like my fish are flying in mid air (seriously) with 15% water changes every 2-3 days. I am running a fluval 403 and fx3 on my 150. A magnum 350 on my 100 and little magnum hangon on my 65

how long has the tank been set up??

See on the bag where it says "flame retardant", and "mildew resistant". Treated with some chemical that could be toxic to fish.

I wash all my stuff first with a baking soda/ water soultion; plus it also says hypoallergenic, so if it's safe enough for a child to use... In addition I have been using this in all my filters and sumps; no probs;)

Just cause it won't hurt a kid when in a pillow, doesn't mean that is soley enough to put it in your tank......like iodized salt wont hurt kids will kill fish.

You dont need to buy anything, Just change the filter media if you havent already. Then do 40% to 50% water changes 3 consecutive days and it will clear up. The water is cloudy because of poor water quality....which is a result of ovestocking and/or poor maintinence habits.
