This is Christmas time so I say Merry Christmas and whoever happens not to like it well,it just doesn't apply to them.

"I was raised with" isn't a very good reason to continue with something. the rest of your point is valid though. We'd be doing a lot of dumb stuff if we continued down the path of doing whatever we were raised with, heck just in fish keeping alone.
Personally aside from the school districts having issues, im not sure you guys are running into issues saying merry Christmas. I've never met a person in my life who had the guts to tell me you can't say merry Christmas.

Oh ps, I may throw in a have a happy holidays if I want to include New Years but if im specifically wishing someone a great Christmas, i most def say Merry Christmas. we do need to push back at the school districts though. Can't be teaching our children Christmas is outlawed
LOL,no I have not run into any issues with saying it and as far as I'm concerned there won't be as I intend to continue saying it at will.For instance,at work the administration seems to be trying to encourage others to say Happy Holidays but most people do not and at my sons school I said Merry Christmas to his teacher and she stopped short of saying it in reply but she winked and smiled at me lol...I have relatives and family friends who happen to be muslim and they are all aware of how I feel about the "Islamation" of this country...there seems to be a real push towards it and in my opinion that is what is behind this whole thing.
Christmas is a tradition. Fishkeeping is not a tradition I get what you are saying and yes they are really pushing alot of things in public schools that I don't agree with. There was talk in my area that they wanted to take the cross out of Christian schools because family's who where not Christian where sending there kids to Christian schools (better school board) and the cross offended them.
I know a muslim, who wished me Merry Christmas the other day. It surprised me.
It seems almost no one likes "Merry commericial holiday" though ... I get some weird looks.
