Head room over sump.

Well, after agonizing about this for a couple of days I decided to go with a wood stand. You just can't beat the cost savings and convenience of building a wood stand on site.
I bumped up the height inside the cabinet so I'll have 8" clearance over the sump. It will be fine. I was analyzing it way too much. I'll have four full doors across the front and I'm gonna build full doors for the ends also. Access shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks for all the input gang.

And kudos to Joey Mullen for the basic design. The darn thing would hold a tank.

I've never liked the idea of placing a wood stand directly on the floor. If you spill water it seeps under the stand and you need to use shims to level the tank. Not to mention I'm anal and I like to clean under things.
So I machined up some 1/2" CRS plates and recessed them into the bottom of the stand. The adjustable legs are rated for 5,000 lbs each.

My wife tells me I overdue things......................

Naw.............

Purdy!! The stand is looking sharp! Great job!!

I want to build my own stand for my 135 the next time I move so I can ditch the old one. I hate the limited working space under the tank. I gripe about it every time I do maintenance LOL.

Hahahaha, me either?! I'd love to have bright light in there as well. I've had to use flashlight in my stand!
