It's not a food thing. Oh, for the record, meiling is a she.(see avatar) He's in a 120 gal tank until I can find a bigger one, he's only 17". Seriously I've never hit an animal but a little slap is OK? (per your input) It's just like a big game to him. He has some clearance to jump, but he waits until I lift the lid and goes for it. I need a helmet for my aro or he's gonna have dain bramage.

I grabbed ahold of my big silver once to get my violet goby out of his mouth and i had to smack him once or twice to get him to let go and he never had any ill effects from it
