We landed a 5 footer Saturday and got hooked up w/ a 3.5 ft Gar last night that got off at shore. Bring a bunch of gear. They have been going through mine like crazy down here in Louisiana.

oh, i am going pre 9 am or at night. the only time im out during the heat of the day is work, or in the water. but, maybe i will get lucky and catch some while we are beer drinking and lounging in the river...
It's been tough. We had 1/2" of rain and with it being so dry down here, the run off made the river chocolate milk. Threw the net at a few 12"-ers and missed. Very tough to see. Hoping this evening is better.
Well I failed. Caught a few 20+" longnose, but threw them back. I don't have room for those. Saw a few 12" or smaller. But too far out to net. Oh well, it was fun to try.
