Heading to Miami this weekend

Well I'll be in Miami this weekend for a 5k (www.runforyourlives.com) This will be our second time doing this run, first time was last year in Atlanta. It'll be an all day Saturday event but on Sunday the wife and our friends are doing the beach thing weather permitting. I let them know I'll be going fishing instead :) I talked to Tampa_Bass (think thats his username) a little and got some spots to try out. Going on an adventure in hopes to catch some peacock bass. I originally was going to try for a long weekend in May, this is just a spurr of the moment deal. The plan will still be to go back again and spend a long weekend still. Hopefully I'll have some luck and get a few good lookers :)
 
Hope the weather holds out for you. It's been hit and miss lately.
If you can't get out to fish, feel free to swing by and stay dry inside the store.
 
Will definitely try. Hoping its a good turn out, just need to pinpoint a few locations Tampa Bass gave me, I've been on google maps all day lol.

Anyone have any good spots to try? Im going to try and get a solid 8 hours or so in, luck depending lol
 
Well I'm out here on snapper creek right now and have been for about 2.5 hours with no luck. Tried some misc lures and had a few things chase it but that was it. Hit a local spot for shiners however its so windy the canal is moving very very fast. Haven't had a hit on the shiners either. Don't know that ill be able to spend much more time before I have to head to back to Jacksonville though...

if the water is moving fish the lateral canals.. should've left you my number there's afew good one s where you are.
i'll be down there next weekend. i'll post some picks
