if the water is moving fish the lateral canals.. should've left you my number there's afew good one s where you are.
i'll be down there next weekend. i'll post some picks
I was right near that bridge off the deadend you said to park in, how far down were the lateral canals? I originally didnt think I'd get to fish too long as everyone was hung over and I didnt get out until 1pm... I got in 4 hours though. I am VERY happy to say that right at 4:00pm I started getting hits and nailed one peacock bass, one tiny small mouth, and one biiig large mouth. I didnt go down too far as I wasnt sure how long I'd have, but what i did was crossed the bridge and fished off that rock face and only about 5-6 feet out as for whatever reason there was no current there and the shiners were able to swim. Thats where I had all my hits (I lost one fish, dunno what it was). Im uploading the photo of my peacock right now. That was so awesome to catch one!!
Oh, so I started out using lures, about 15 minutes in I had 3 small hits but nothing solid so I figured it was going to be a really good day. That was it from 1 to 2:45, I didnt get a single hit the rest of the time. I found some local bait shop called Kendals Bait and Tackle or something 2 miles away and hit them up for shiners, dude was super grumpy -- kind of a dick.. but whatever lol. I went back and fished up and down the canal with them before hitting those fish off the rock face. I WILL be back. Any idea where to catch wild shiners around there??
