Monster Pets, of all places, has Vieja Argentea for sale. (On Washington Blvd.) Kind of a rarer variety of vieja to see at a general pet store - I'm assuming a local breeder must have brought them in. They're about 1.5-2" and, if I remember correctly, are going for $15. They look great, too.

Grrr. I've wanted one of these for a long time, but it just wouldn't work out for my tank right now.

I stopped by there today after work, they are some good looking fish but that store does get some good stuff in often but its still no Zoos.

worl wide aquarium in upper darby has them from time to time and also small sa/ca too.

I was surprise that zoo went out of business too.

Sorry for straying from the subject of the post, but Zoos demise sent me into depression.I wanted to look into renting the space and starting my own store.

for more common everyday tropical fish try trade winds aquarium, 40th n market, i was there this weekd, they had some nice looking carpintes 7 inches for 25 bux, some gars, some pike cich, a large albino channel catfish, green terror, oscar, wolfish, water cow, electric catfish, brown albino clown kinfe, etc

Don't do it...there's a reason they're not around anymore. The fish biz is tough from what I hear. Slim margins I suppose. It's vastly more enjoyable as a hobby.

The best places are a drive. There's Captain Nemo's (formerly Big Al's) in East Norriton, East Coast Aquatics near the airport, and Aquarium Center in Lindenwold NJ.

I actually haven't been to Tradewinds...will have to check it out.
