same thing really. youre saying that you think they make the tank 'full of air' and this isnt the case. the bubbles travel up to surface where they pop. youre not adding dissolved oxygen with a bubble strip
 
The only issues that can arise from this is if it creates too strong of a current for fish that prefer sitting water. This is pretty uncommon for a bubble aerator to do (more common issue with powerheads).

Indeed, as others have said, countless species of fish that hang in all levels of the water seem to enjoy occasionally playing in the bubbles.
