heat pad use...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yeah the rainforest one is a little cooler

if you had to get a heat pad i'd suggest the rainforest one, i'd still recommend a infared heat bulb or ceramic one as those are least likely to burn your gecko.

i have a red night light bulb ...

My best friend is a Marine who was in Pakistan and Afghanistan. He used to catch leopard geckos around his base and when he was out on partorl he'd find them. They can glow a bit under a black light he said. I guess they had black lights to look for scorpions or something. I've seen pictures of the place where he caugh them Bloody Irish. Yeah, it's sandy there, trust me.

i don't see how that has anything at all to do with this thread, although for the record sand is not the best idea for substrate.

if you have a infared bulb then you could just go up a size or two in order to get the correct temps, no heat pad needed.

Weird, my cousin is stationed in Kandahar in Afghanistan and he only seen them near rocky outcrops, not out in the sandier areas.
