Guys the heater in my 55 gallon Oscar tank just broke!
The current water temp is around what it would be but
He is just sulking at the bottom corner and very pale
I can't get a ham eater till tomorrow. Will he make it?

Just do water changes with some warmer water, but not too warm as to shock him. As long as you still have good oxygenation in the tank i think he will make it, as long as hes not a juvy. What size is he?

He or she should be okay, just get a new one as soon as possible. Cichlids are fairly tolerant as long as the temperature is fairly consistent, and presuming the temperatures are not excessively hot or cold. Although, this is obviously not their preference and tolerance because it stresses the fish. One night should not be an issue but if there are glass shards in the tank, then that is a different story obviously. ;)

Oh yeah, also ensure there is plenty of oxygen available because the oxygen levels tend to be largely influenced by temperature. This aspect is very important; a majority of the surface water should be disrupted or disturbed, so as long as your filter is accomplishing this aspect and the air bubblers are functioning, there should be no problem short term.
