Get the darkest pvc pipe that you can find. Drill holes and put the heater in the pipe. Place the heater vertically in the rear corner of the tank. Usually because the corner is dark, it's barely noticible. You can also lay it flat on the bottom back of your tank. Maybe get something like rocks or plastic plants to cover it. Hope this helps. If you do pvc, just remember that you may have to adjust the heater temperature because the "guard" may tamper with the heater reading.
