heater for 500 gallon

I would heat the sump and the wattage will depend on the room you keep them in. I would go to Jehmco and get a controller and 3 - 200 watt heaters.

I use 2 X 350 watt heaters, but I don't recall the brand.

It's always better to go with more smaller heaters because if you aren't running them with a controller and one sticks it won't cook the fish before yopu have a chance to notice it.

You know what they say..... if you have $25 worth of fish buy a $25 heater.
