Heater suggestion for 225 gallon

i was always told that you should split the difference in heaters. Meaning, if you need 300w's to heat the tank, that its a good idea to use 2 150w heaters.
if one gets stuck on, it will struggle to really heat the water to a dangerous temp. likewise, if it gets stuck off, the temp wont plummet.

dont know if there is any truth to that.

I agree about using 2 or 3 less wattage heaters.
I usually put 2 in the sump, and one in the tank.
I have had heaters get stuck (almost always in the "On" position) and try to cook the fish.
By using lessor wattage, this doesn't happen, because "hopefully" all thermostats don't fail at the same time, so the others turn off, preventing a fish boil, yet still working enough maintaining a reasonable temp if one fails on the "Off" position.
A heat controller can also prevent a Door County Fish Boil, although even some of them fail (especially the "economically priced ones".
