Heaters for 600 gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Magnets would be a good plus but mine will be going into a sump so suction cups would be fine for me........

Two of the main reasons I went with the JBJ True Temp titanium heaters are: #1 - They are titanium and have a hard plastic case surrounding them. #2 - You can use magnets instead of suction cups to hold them in place. This we a huge thing for me, since I use them inside the tank with our Fly River turtle and he is an absolute wrecking ball. As a bonus, the magnets are extremely strong. They hold the heaters in place through the thickness of the 600 gallon Pentair fiberglass tank.

I'm sure there are plenty other manufacturers that will work in your case. I couldn't find any others in for our specific situation (besides an inline heater, big $$$$).

Did you have any problems drilling the tank......I'm afraid I'll Crack it

I've been running six 300W Eheim heaters on a Ranco controller on my 770G for the past 4 years without any issues. On cold winter nights the air temps in the room can get down to 50F and 1,800W seems to work well.
Just as a heads up, you'll likely need a dedicated 20AMP circuit just for your heaters; you shouldn't plug anything into any outlets that are on the same circuit as the heaters.
Insulating the sides will help, but having tight fitting lids will do the most in regards to keeping the heat in the tank.

I considered this as well with 5 ehiem heaters.....since I already have 3

Could u post a link of the controller you use please

Say I have 2 300 watt ehiem heaters and 1 1000 watt titanium catalina heater with temp control........how can I get it to control all 3 heaters to same desired temperature?
