I used to have just 1 x 250w heater in the sump, but lately I think the heater is dead, cuz temp went from 82 - 77 in 2 days.

Now i got 2 new heaters, 250 w stealth again.. should I put them both in tank? or in sump? I have a large aro and a pretty good size dat in tank (tank is 125 g)

Thanks

I like mine in my sump because, atractiveness as well as large fish cannot break what is not there :)

In the sump. I keep mine as far away from the pump as possible though. When it was close to the pumps, they would turn on and off alot.

put them in the sump. better safe than sorry. stealth... :screwy: that's sounds familiar. mine is not broken but the dial is not as accurate as it says. :( what temp dial do you put it? i have my 60 gal at 84F but the temp dial reads 76F!:irked: trial and error.. same with my 2 other one's in the 180. you saw it already and you know what i mean.:)

All (4) of my stealths are dead on

That said, I'd put them in the sump

ok, i just move the heaters from tank to the sump, both set at 82f, right next to each other, and next to them is the rio 32hf pump. I will see how the temp reading turn out in the tank later.

When i plug one of the heater back, there is a small spark, i hope that didnt kill the heater.

Small spark where?!

At the plug? If so then the heater is probably on when you did it. Alway turn heaters and all components off before plugging them in. That being said, I* doubt if 10% of people do it :D .

If you can put the heaters under the bio-material in your W/D filter, it will be benificial to the bacterial growth. If too hot then one under and one near return in sump area.

What do you mean under the bio-material?
at the bottom with the bio-media sitting on it?
or past the bio-media chambers?

How do u turn off the Stealth Heater? Long time no chat Dr. Joe! How have you been?

Does this little spark damage the heater?

I have both heaters in Sump since last night, temp setting at 82 F

in tank temp reading is 81.5 F
