i use marineland stealth heaters. never had a problem with them

I loved mine, great look, loved the LED light, downside that it only went to 86 deg.

UNTIL IT FREAING BLEW UP IN MY DISCUS TANK KILLING FISH!! RAISE THE TEMP TO 110 BEFORE BURSTING. STUNK UP THE ROOM AND BROKE THE TANK. THE COMPANY STILL HASN'T GOTTEN BACK TO ME AS TO MY CLAIM.

Ok...Calibration...why? due to ambient temp?

The ambient temp in my basement isn't consistant...does that affect them?

MIKE,

I don't know why i had so may calibration errors. My friend had a similar one and never had a problem. So maybe user error? :irked:

I use Ebo Jager "glass" heaters in DIY inline housings.

The housings are cheap , the heaters are not.
If you buy a cheap heater you get what you paid for.
If you have any money invested in fish you learn not to make this mistake.
I too have had to learn to "read " the heater.
The dial is rarely correct, but once you know the deviation it's pretty simple stuff.
