ehiem jager all day

Going by the first post, I think its safe to say the OP is not impressed by Jagers. And judging by the many forum complaints and negative reviews, its also safe to say that Jagers are no longer built to the same standards and quality as they were known for in the past.

All my heaters are from 7-10 years ago. An eheim jager as well. Works well. Also I have pond pumps to air pumps that last me a decade as well and still using it. Everything now these days are built like crap. I'd rather pay a lot for a heater if I know it will last me a while but nothings in the market like that anymore.

I know for fish rooms many people don't want heaters even the King of DIY his rays died from a heater failure. Its better to heat the room then to get a heater.

Brian your Bonsai got so big in your sig! Mine barely grew but mines a female.

I know the jäger heaters used to be good but I haven't had much luck with them.

Thanks. He's doing well. About 5" now and the BP he's in with tube has dropped.

I probably own/owned over 20 jaeger heaters within the last decade. I even have an old green one that still works great. There was only one instance I've experienced where the heater failed and wouldn't shut off. 95% success rate will keep me loyal to that line of heaters.

If you are keeping high end stuff, it might be worth considering putting a heater controller on a heater controller. The redundancy would pretty much assure you never cook your fish.

Old Eheim jaegers from 12 yrs ago are great. New jaeger don't last. I had 3-4 from 125w, 200w, 150w that all failed within 1.5 yrs. I am taking my money to spend on Aqueon heaters and Hydor inline.
