EBO/J mine have been fully submerge for more than a year and never had a problem.

A heateris any object that emits heat or causes another body to achieve a higher temperature. In a household or domestic setting, heaters are commonly used to generate heating.

I actually like Rena heaters

You're not the only one. I think the Rena Cal Top Light Excel Heaters were of great quality when compared to the Visi-Therm Deluxe Heaters that I've used. I've yet to try their SmartHeaters.

I can not stand my Rena Cal Top heater, the thing varies like +-4 degrees and it's set to 72 and the tank hovers around 78-82!!!!???!!! 100w in a 20g so it's not to small/big.

On the other hand my Stealth equipped tanks are much more stable and nearly the temp the gauge on the heater shows.

I also have a Hydor 300w inline heater and it is great too.

stealth heaters are BY far the best heater i have ever used..

blends in
does not kill your fish
does not need a heater guard
submersible

i really like the Jager and Visitherm Stealth. theyve worked great. stay away from the Hydor Theo. they are the biggest pieces of absolute wallabe crap ever invented for an aquarium. do a search, youll read several horror stories about these worthless heaters. i have one right now only because i havent replaced it.

the thermostat is crap on these. i have to set mine to about 71 in order to keep the temp at 82. they are garbage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :irked:
