I am at odds with myself about how to do the background on my tank. The method you employed looks to be the most cost effective/ efficient. I just wanted to ask if you had noticed any leeching and/or particulate matter increase from the interaction of the polyisostyrinate and saltwater. I have 4x8 sheets of that at work and would like to use it. Is there a specific kind to use or w/e kind is available.

Excellent job on your background, enviable workmanship btw. Can't wait to see some purple on there.
 
I used pond foam, not the poly sheet. The sheet was cut to fit for the area I was going to cover in rock, so I could do my layout and sqaure up the edges with the tile saw.

The pond foam is pretty easy to work with, goes for about 11 a can, and I used 3 cans for this project. Just make sure to use as much as you can in the first pass, since the nozzle clogs up and the remainder will likely go to waste.

As far as the pond foam goes, no ill effects so far. I covered it in fiberglass resin and sand, so that should seal it up. Marine epoxies would work just as well.

Started on building my frag tank stand/cabinet. Its going to be holding goodies like a co2 tank, rodi top off water, and dj switch panels. Ill do the doors next weekend, along with any sanding and staining.

Took some updated pics of the livestock. The Hoevens Wrasse that I got on Friday is camera shy and burried in the sand before I could get a shot.

Whoh...you know I have been gone too long when there are fish and corals in heathd's 120!

Sweet looking bro...cant wait for you to start gettin some stuff going on that background. Also jealous of your flowerpot or goni...although I want a red one.
 
Thanks Fleshy. The Goni is surprisingly hardy. The clowns are hosting it, and are extremely rough with it, but the Goni seems to take it well.

Stand for the frag tank is almost done. I need to sand it, adjust the hinges for the door, and then slop on some polyurethane. Also managed to get a shot of my newest addition, the Hoeven's Wrasse. He has been sort of shy up until now, and is becoming more social.

Hoevens wrasse...the wrasse with a million names...even more than one scientific name. Decent reef fish while small however. I have one as well. Hallichoeres melanarus.

Gonis that are cultured or green seem to do very well.

Kudos as well on your cabinetry...it far outdoes mine.
