I am close to getting my 585 done. And with the 100gal rubbermaid sump. it's pushing 650 easy. So how do I heat that much water?

I don't want to throw in a crapload of 400watt theos but I will if I have to.

Is there any BIG heaters out there that will work? I know they have heaters for the stock tanks that are high wattage. but are the temp controlled?

Or does any Aquarium equip company have a BIG heater I don't know about.

Also what kind of wattage will I need. I am thinking i'll need at least 1200 watts.

Let me know guys.... Thanks

HHHmmmm...I've never tried it, but what about reptile basking lights? You could heat and light at the same time. Also, submerged sump pumps heat the water quite a bit. You might not ned as much heating as you think. Larger bodies of water are easier to maintain temp because they dont fluctuate as easily as smaller ones.

I find that the in line heaters are the best but make sure
they come with flow protection and high temp. protection!!!!!

good link but those are REALLY expensive. After talking it over with Li I think I am going to be doing some more looking inot the dual 1k heaters.

HI, I only have three 300 watt external Heaters for a total of 900 watts, for my 600 or so gallons with my filters, and I keep my Temp stable at 26 Celsius and its always with in + or - .1 so it gets the job done quite well. So maybe it gives you some ideas on the watts needed.

Good info. Li thinks I should be able to get away with 1K of heater. but if I get two then I got a backup. I am redoing the room the tank is in. Trying to get it better insulated. so I won't need that much heater. My worry is if I don't get it heated well enough in the winter.
