Ya cool, you should be good to go, also I did run my tank on only 600 watts 2 heaters for a while and it was still very stable, as I still was running my old 225 gal before I had all my fish brought over to my new tank. So I think I should be good for the winter myself, as it can get pretty cold over here in Germany too. But its good to have back up, and with your tank being in the basement it would be better i think to have a little extra.
