I set up the new aquarium, 2 FX5s, Eheim Classic 600, and a Turbo Twist 36W.

I'm using two Via Aqua 300w Titanium heaters and have them set at 80*

These heaters are running non stop and I can't get the water over 71*.

I need new heater suggestions and have always tried to stay away from glass.

Any ideas?

It has been my experience qith heaters that circulation is key. But even proper circulation won't always be enough. 600w is pushing the least limit for an aquarium that size. I would suggest larger titanium heaters as I too am opposed to glass. The larger the better...in my opinion....I hate heaters running all the time.

My tank is about the same size, about 300 including sump. I use two 500watts. My house is never under 71F, so the heat runs about 20-25 minutes to stay around 78.5 -79. I'd say it's off most of the time.

Agree with above, I'd add another and see hoe much it helps.

i have my 300 with my sump which is a 125 about 70-80 gals filled when running.. i only use 2 x 300w Jager to keep it at 78* and my basement is around 67-71*.. all lids are all closed even my sump have lids.. all pipe i drilled the lids to accommodate to get into the sump..
