Is one 300 W heater enough? Or two?

The tank has two 6x6 overflow boxes, top to bottom. These are NOT used in any way (no water flow) - Can the heater(s) be put in there, or do would that not heat the tank properly? Thanks!

Your going to need two heaters for that size of a tank, One just wont do it well, and it will probably run so much you will burn it out faster as well. Also putting them in the overflows is not the best as you dont really get any water flow to move the water around in them, if you put the heaters in there and then added a pump or power head in the overflow then you would be fine, that water just needs to circulate through the tank well.

I would opt for more than two i have a 300 and a 100 in my 150 and I can't get the water passed 78 for the life of me, with the ambient room temp being 70-75. I would opt for 3-4 just to be safe
