Alright guys, need some help here. Setting up a 125g tank, sand for substrate, Fx5 for filtration, driftwwod. Looking for a good heater now. I've been reading a lot of reviews on them, I'm not to impressed. I just want a good quality heater that I'm don't have to worry about. Any input would be great!

I've got a Fluval E series and a Stealth. They both work for me. You will get positive and negative reviews for both brands. Stay tuned . . .

i got a 2 marinelands, one for my 55 and one for my 120. no complaints so far and theyre both fairly cheap.

I use Hydor Theo heaters (made in Italy). They are usually priced cheaper than Marineland and Hagen. I've never had problems with them.

Here's a link for what I'm talking about. They also sell them at Petsmart.

They also make an Inline heater that is external to your fish tank (you can attach it to the outtake of your canister filter). But, this is a much pricier option. It's actually what I want to get.

Here's a link for that: http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3743+11369&pcatid=11369

Anyway you good, you get what you pay for.

Good luck !!!!:headbang2:headbang2

I have two 300-watt Marineland Stealth Pro Heaters on my 125 GAL clown loach tank. Haven't experienced any negative issues with them. So far, so good.

i HAD one of the Hydor Theo heaters and will never buy another one. set to "78" and was still "on" with my tank at 84. i have a stealth noew and haven't had any problems with it yet.

with that size of tank, I would recommend (2) 300 watt heaters, this is what I have on my 150g

I just got back from checking out some stealth heaters. My buddy just got a theo and broke on him. Anyone try a hydor external for 125g or bigger? I think that would be nice to not have the heater in the tank.
local fish shop in Renton here doesn't think that it'll work since I'm using an Fx5.

Oh yeah, thanks for all the info. I leaning towards stealth or hydor external if possible.

Oh yeah, the guy at the fish shop did reccomend a titanium heater. How many use these?
