Heating for a 6 X 2 X 2 tank 150 gal

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
LOL!

But if u can afford it I'd get 2 300W heaters. Set one to the temp you wnat the tank to be in like say 78-80 degrees and set the other one to like 72. So the one set at 72 wont turn on unless the one set at 78-80 for some reason gets busted and doesn't work. So as your tank water chills u know it wont go below 72 cause u have the backup heater.

If you run 2 300 watters i think it'd increase the life expectancy of the heaters. They both won't have to run so often to keep the temp at whatever you set it. Cheaper now, but more expensive in the long run, your gonna have to replace the heaters faster when running 1.

6x2x2 tank is a 180g, not 150...

That's exactly what I was thinking.
