Heating problem exterior wall help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
buy a stealth heater or get one thats inline, that way you won't have to worry about them breaking.

I don't know how its possible for the tank to be that cold. Are the heaters plugged in?

What is the temperature in the house? 400 watts should be enough to get the temps up.

Are you sure that your thermometer is correct?

all my tanks are in a basement, and sit near exterior concrete walls and i maintain all of the at 79 degrees.
180 gallon-350 watt titanium(intank)150watt(in 60gallon sump)=79 degrees
125 gallon-400 watt(in tank)=79 degrees
125 gallon-two 250 watt stealths (in tank) no heater in sump=79 degrees
55 gallon-300 watt(in tank)=79 degrees
even though my basement does not get freezing cold it does get very chilly, and i dont have any heaters in the basement, you should be fine unless something is wrong with all your heaters.

Problem resolved first 2 heaters were defective what are the chances. got a 200w tronic doing the job and than some temp was at 82 this morning i turned it down now. the differance in behavior is like night and day i hav platys in there and they ate 4 or 5 of them over night.

Glad to hear that everything is in check now! I can't believe how unlucky you were with two heaters being defective!

Good to hear.
