Use strips of black construction plastic (3ft wide visqueen) with spacing for off-gassing. Be careful with this as I've raised temps to 95*F+ in 20000g , a little water (1") on top helps too.

The solar blanket should not interfer w/gas exchange. I can't imangine it will completely cover the pond and not allow any CO2 to exit. Keep the pumps running while covered.
