Come on man, I recently moved a 90g corner tank up some stairs with just my girlfriend, it had to be rotated in the air to fit through the door too.

I'm quite strong and fit, I used to box, but damn I'm only 5'9 and weigh about 10 stone (140) and my girlfriend is like 5'3 and weighs less.

I've also moved a 180 (6x2x2) with just one other person, and that was when I was younger and much weaker.

With a bit of determination you'd do it with just one other person.

I wish i could get a big tank like that that close to my house. It just wont fit in my 92 sunbird. If I could get one that close to my door Id carry it on my back if I had to.

I have carried 125s alone, and 180g Oceanic with one other person. I have also moved a 220 with one other person. It's not that big of a deal.

As far as moving the glass tank, no biggie. Squat down and lift one end. The weaker person then holds the tank while the stronger person squats down adn picks up the other end. Walk and place. Open beer. Repeat.

Free beer is a good incentive.

Howdy,

add pizza, and you'll have more volunteers than need.

Honestly, I moved my 220 gal (6'x2'x2.5') with three buddies of mine (which I recommend if it involves stairs and corners), and we had a great time eating pizza afterwards. Call it a party, and they'll show up!

hahahah. you kill me bro. my tank was thick as hell, all glass. 96x30x30. me and my brother, not exactly small guys, but we moved it 3 times and sure it was a pain in the ass and heavy as hell, but you have to do what you have to do. i just dont believe that you and 2 buddies couldnt move that little tank. i worked at ocean vu aquariums in phoenix az, and we built custom acrylic aquariums. it took me and 3 other guys to move a 1000 gallon 1" thick acrylic tank into a house. if you cant do that tank you have with 2 other guys, maybe go down to the local day care canter and find 3 of their fittest looking female workers and hire them. not only will you have something to look at, youll see that not all pussies are weak. hahaha. im just playin. but seriously. movre that thing. use some of your naturally given testosterone and put some power into it.

dear god, are you a 6'4 beanpole? :D

I can pick up a 200 lb man without much trouble. I'd be confident of moving a 500lb tank with 1 other guy, and your tank does not weigh 500 lbs.

How did you get it to the bottom of your stairs in the first place?

I moved a 125 gal. off its stand, down a flight of stairs, across the basement and up onto another stand BY MYSELF! MILKCRATES can be amazing. Slid tank across stand onto a stack of crates, then support one end of the tank and remove 1 crate, first one from one end and then one from the other end. Once it's on the floor, stand it up and walk it over to the stairs. Just lie it down the stairs ( you at the bottom ) and SLOWLY lower it down step by step to the bottom. Slide it across the floor into position in front of new stand and put it up in reverse to getting it down. p.s. I'm only 5'7", 180lbs.
