My mother in-law just moved from her apartment and decided she didn't have time for her fish any more. She managed to give away all of her fish but one, Louise the pacu. She asked me If I could take her last fish and me being the "nice guy" said yes.
Louise has been in a 75g acrylic way too long. She couldn't turn around and it was a real trick to get her out through the port holes in the top. So I took her home.
Now for placement...Hmmmm... I tried to put her in my 180g with Brutus my monster Jar...Well Brute tried to eat her :WHOA:!!!!! I took her out and put her in my 150g with Cornelius, my Giant Gourami. All was well for a few days until I noticed about 5 gallons of water was out of the 150. I turned the light on and saw the pacu in the corner of the tank almost completely skinned !!!!!!! Cornelius gets along with the TF barbs,GT,and the JD but didn't like the pacu... Now I have Louise in a 90g hospital tank all to herself.

WINNER by way of SKINNING----CORNELIUS the GG!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, that is one beat up fish. Turf is at a premium and worth fighting for in your tanks.

That's one of the draw backs of having monster predators. Some get along with each other but most don't.

The crappy pics don't show the extent of the damage...It's worse than it appears.

I felt so bad I bought a 90g to set up for just the pacu.

Wow that's a lot of damage! Hopefully the "little" guy gets better quickly. Not really much you could have done about it either... sounds awesome that you picked up a new tank for him though! :headbang2

NONE of your tanks are big enough for the Pacu. While I understand the urge to rescue doomed fish, unfortunetaly you pretty much moved the Pacu from one undersized tank to another :(

Whoah whoah whoah, where did I hate? I didn't hate at all. I wasn't being condescending or hateful at all. I was just throwing it out there. I don't just go around grilling people because I'm bored.

Take your assumptions and preachiness somewhere else. And I'm not your "brah".

chill bottom feeder dont derail the thread with you worthless flame he rescued the fish as he said it couldnt turn around in its old tank now it in a tank that he can turn around in. back to topic good rescue btw and buying him his own tank good choice
