Heck came in. Thanks John!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks Kolt. I hope they do ok. Just came home to see if they would eat and they have no interest. One is dark and fins are clamped...

Not uncommon from what I understand. Offering bloodworms might help, like with most picky eaters. This is why I suggested against keeping the chocolate in, just because you want to make sure they are all eating.

They look good Rob and will only get better- this is the toughest time getting them to settle - keep em warm get them eating (black worms are impossible to turn down) keep an eye on the clamped one- and good luck!

Thanks guys. I have my fingers scrolled that's for sure. I'll have to try and find some live blackworms.

Jay, how did your discus from John come in?

Thank you Pete. That's a real tank. Love seeing the thread fins in there. Gives me hope on tankmates.

Do you mind adding your water params, since youre using straight tap? I would love to keep any wilds, not just heckels, but Im always worried they wont show their best colors in my tap water.

Really like the look of that dwarf water lettuce too! Its just the style plant I was looking to add in my South American setups.

My tap is 7.4 settling to 6.8 in the tank. GH is at 179ppm. I use peat and rooibos tea in the filters to stain the water. I hope they can make it long term in my setup.

That being said, if I were to do it over, I would've gone with the reds or green wilds. Not as needy as heckels.
