HEEEEEEEEEEELLLLP! Unplanned Parenthood!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
A few of the really bright ones are probably not fertile and are growing fungus. What about the others though? They're that 'golden' color that seems to indicate things are going in the right direction. I might be imagining the dark specks in some of them, though...

Annnnnd now they're interested again after my weekly Saturday water change. Dad is picking at some eggs that don't look right to him, and mom is chasing off the oscar and trying to shoo dad off. :screwy:
Is the female pecking at the eggs?

She has cleaned off a few areas, yes. Since then, they've gone back to ignoring the clutch. Something's caused ammonia levels to rise, everyone's hanging out up top and breathing hard! :(

It's at 0.25 ppm after I did the water change this morning. Could this be from the spawning? pH is fine, nitrites are 0, and nitrates are about 40ish.

I don't think the ammonia spike is do to spawning. Could be from other things. How's the circulation of the tank? You could of had "dead spots" that got mix while the bass was chasing the fish around.

I don't think this spawn will make it. First usually don't. But I hope I'm wrong.

And that's a wrap. You were right, hayn! Don't count your bass before they're hatched. I'm sure they'll be back at it again soon. :)

That's the way....keep your head up and wait for the next spawn.
