Hello this isnt really a DIY but i hope you can help me thank you.

So ive always wanted an aquarium but my house is gonna undergo repairs and ive thought that why not include building a 1000 Gallon Pondarium since its gonna be cheaper than building monster tanks where i live.Concrete
Pondarium dimensions would be 144L x 48 W x 36 H at 34. Inch water level its gonna be 1000 gallons

Here goes my questions

How should i approach filtration i cant/dont really want to put it outside security issues

Wanted to put some decent Overhead Sump but im really worried about how the Water Circulation for a 12 Ft pond would go and where should in put it cause i dont want it eating space in the pond wanted to go wider but cant dang

Second Question is what kind of glass should i use and how thick

Image attached would be how small my room is crazy idea heh.

how long will the viewing glass panel be?
btw thats a nice sized pond .
for filtration you could do the upgraded version of what "off the deep end aquatics" has on his pond .

Hello thank you for your time

About the glass panel idk it could be adjusted dpending on the situation but probably 60 - 84 inch ideally but i dont know really it may cost alot more

yes the size is ideal to house monsters that reach 36-40+ a little bit comfortable i guess for the fish hope so lol

Yes ive watched his video kinda complicated lol but i like the idea of adding the pumps to the sides to hide it . It also helps with increasing the temperature of the water i guess?

Also to add about the temps i guess i live in a hot enough country lol for room temp to be good enough .

Not the best idea but few people who I know only keep the main pump running for about 8-10 hours a day.
Their ponds are understocked.Other than that they simply keep the water moving either by using multiple wavemakers or by a large aeration pump. They generally do this as to save the money in bills. But you may keep the main pump off for quite some time if it overheats the pond. But I don't think that such large volumes of water may get largely affected by the heat of the pumps.
Which country are you from btw?

PH sadly heh.

Ive read quite alot of articles/watched vids before considering posting here for more info
So probably i know stuff but no hands on experience currently

What im mostly concerned is the circulation of water in a 12 ft L 4ft Wide pond really..i dont want to whirlpool my fish to death.
And if i find that its really hard to maintain heat for 1000 gallons im toning down the height of the tank to 28inc with 26 inch water level for roughly 777 gallons would that make alot of difference?

Also listened to Cory of aquarium coop about filtration and how bacteria only reproduces according to whats actually needed.but people seem to just want to over filter and protect their investment really which is very understandable

All the circulation dose not need to come from filters.

Yes indeed . But what im worried is what the flow would look like in a big pond with multiple sources of circulation .

So i really want to know where to put the filter output / input , air stones and wave makers

But you did not give enough information. What fish are you keeping? Different fish like different flows. Also your sump does not have to be very big As long as you could fit some biomedia and the heaters in it depending on your bioload you don't need that much media. Then you can use either wave makers or pumps on a closed loop to circulate but without knowing what's in the pondAs far as decorations and things it's hard to say for anybody it's trial-and-errorIf you get some detritus building up in a corner you'll move the pump. Depending on your bioload You might need a stronger pump for your filter I have a very high biologist in my tank and had the upgrade from 5 time turnover an hour to 12 an hour To help get the suspended matter out of the water But if my tank was lightly stocked I wouldn't need that and I would have probably been fine with the 5 time turnover rate and my wave makers. We can definitely point you in the right direction
