8 Days is not even remotely close to cycling a filter. 3-4 weeks is. Your Butti probably isnt eating due to ammonia/nitrite poisoning.

If this is true...What do i do then Mystix???

get him to a diff tank... do you have a test kit? you should check to see where its at... i wouldnt even think about putting fish in until you've seen the nitrites and amonia spiked and then come down most of the way... that can take from 2 to 6 weeks...

this is really bad, and oi know that my fish are relatively hardy, but my tanks were cycled (fishless) for 2 days before i added fish. this was at the beggining of my fish keeping 'career', but still, it worked, and nobody died

Ok so i F'ed up real bad...And dont have another tank to put him in...now what can i do? or is he pretty much just going to die on me?:(

I swear if i loose that fish its gonna be over all aquariums will be sold.

Bio-Spira for the win! Or, take filter media from your cycled tank and add it to your existing filter.

P.S. BUY A TEST KIT (preferably one that measures Ammonia, Nitrites and Nitrates, and preferably pH).

P.P.S Also, you can ease the cycling process with daily 20% waterchanges until the cycle ends. It drags the cycle period out, but eases the stress on a prize fish over the long run.

yeah i agree with merbeast.... the bio-spira is amazing... just keep a good eye on him :)

So on my way home tonight i will stop and get a water tester and some of that bio-spira stuff...But can someone tell me what exactly is bio-spira?? and what im gonna be doing with it? and what should the water look like when i test it as far as what im looking for?? I know all of you are probaly reading my post and are laughing at me be i only had both of my aquariums for only 6 weeks...:help2::wall:
