Hi,

Just wanted to say a quick hello, came across this website during a Google search and really liked it. I have my combo 400+ 700 gallon concrete tank being set up right now (will post pictures after I take some), specifically needed help with regards to stingrays and arowana's. Also needed some help in setting up my sump, more on that later.

For now,I'm glad to be here.

Alright as promised posting some pictures of work in progress of the tank.

My first attempt at creating the outdoor tank was something like this, IMG_1123.JPGIMG_1123.JPGIMG_1123.JPG

My second attempt was to utilize the space that was right outside my doorway and beneath the stairs to my office. Both tanks are still a work in progress, and the final touches still need to be done. Currently struggling with

1. Finding an effective solution for water leaks, considering I am in India - not able to find food grade epoxy coatings to apply on the cement.
2. Sump : design and filtration- the tanks are connected and I propose to have a large sump for the filtration and design.
3. The most interesting one of them all, what fish to populate these bad boys. Any suggestions would be welcome.

I wonder if the glass is thick/tough enough to withstand the tremendous water pressure...

well sure hope so, got a laminated toughened glass of 19 mm thick for the sides. Theoretically it should do just fine since the height of the tank is also quite low, practically well that remains to be seen.

welcome to mfk......nice to meet you and wow this is an awesome build.........
